Odd display behaviour in latest WIP with SolidWorks import

I’ve been working on a project and everything was working fine. I got a notification to update my WIP and I did. Back in the project, I imported a screw from Grainger.com created in SolidWorks. I do this all the time with no problem. However, whenever I manipulate the screw, move, rotate, copy, and also zoom, I get really crazy repeated display copies. they are not selectable copies and eventually go away, no idea why. They sometimes come back when I zoom. Was not happening before the import or the update.

What I get as I manipulate.

Hi -
Do you only see this behavior when you import that particular file? If so, can you please upload a file that behaves like that on your system? Do you see the same in Wireframe mode?

Not that this is likely to affect anything, but this plug-in has been replaced with the native Layouts command in Rhino 7 so you can safely disable or delete that one.

Once it stopped happening, I could not replicate it. In the same file or starting a new one. My Rhino display configuration has problems that I’ve still never solved. (Like this: Wacky update behavior. (6.24.20070.23271, 3/10/2020)) I’m just not ready to completely remove and reinstall as I’ll have to redo so much. I can live with the current problems.

lets start with a graphics driver update for both your nvidia and your intel.

then make sure your nvidia is set to maximum performance-

Where would I set that? In Rhino I see only see Open GL with the option of None, 2x, 4x, (Current) and 8x.

it’s in your nvidia control panel

The problem seems to be in WIP 7. I had odd rendering behavior with another file, but the behavior is not there in V6. See attached pics. The labeled pieces are the same wood-grained block, but the lower ones display as gray. When I zoom in they display as wood-grain. However, even that is not consistent. This does not happen with RH V6.

I’ve been having an issue that seems very similar to this. In my case it’s objects that are on layers that have been turned off or the objects have been hidden individually: the objects sometimes display anyway. They reappear unpredictably, but are not selectable. “ghost” objects. Also, when that happens, everything slows down in Rhino: try to pan a viewport and it goes unresponsive for 30 seconds or so.
I was experiencing this issue with the early June version of Rhino 7 wip, a few days ago I updated to the latest WIP and still same issue.

In the attached image the grey vertical rods can be seen in the shaded viewport in upper right. The rods are on the layer that is highlighted (and turned off). The other viewports do not show the vertical rods. (well, it shows 5 rods, but those are on a different turned-on layer).

Edit to add: also experiencing random viewport slowdown when I turn on the Camera Object.

I’m running the latest NVidia studio drivers for an RTX2070. Eh, here’s the Rhino Sysinfo dump:

Hello - I would disable ClippingBox & realDrawings in Options > Plug-ins page and then restart Rhino - does anything change?
