Object origin and Cplane origin not matching

Hello. This might be a simple command hopefully.
My objects are well aligned to the origin and axes but when I used to start dragging object and press “0” it used to place objects in perfect center (origin). Now it places them in some origin that does not match with my view. Two different planes origins (CPlane and Camera view?)
Here a screenshot where I draw a square then dragged it and press “0” it places the square to a fixed point that is not the origin I see. Same if I drag any other object and press “0” they all go to that same “other” origin. Please help thank you.

hi @Gil

The Y Axis ( Green Line ) is not visible on your image, did you changed some CPlane settings ?

Rodolfo Santos

The Y axis is there and correctly located (one red line was in front covering it that is why you couldn’t see it. I removed it and retook a screenshot).

Strange behaviour…

Could you share your .3dm file ?

Regards
Rodolfo Santos

Of course, can I send it to you privately?

Sure.

But feel free to delete what’s confidential and leave ie. one line before saving.

I just would like to check the CPlane settings in your file, others may want to investigate also if your file is shared.

Rodolfo Santos.

Very well. Thank you for your quick replies. I deleted most of the objects and duplicated the file. It can be shared now:OriginCplane.3dm (4.1 MB)

Additional info:
I upgraded from Rhino 5 to Rhino 7 and had that problem already in Rhino 5. My 3dm files were converted from Rhino 5 to Rhino 7 importing my “origin Cplane” trouble with it.

dear @Gil

From what I see, nothing special regarding the CPlane settings.

Then that’s maybe the procedure used for moving objects that is involved ?

You mean, a custom Origin Cplane ?

Hello - is Gumball set to Snappy dragging or Smooth?

Like shown on this tutorial? Pulling X and Y arrows axis then pressing “0”

As @pascal pointed, is the Gumball set to Snappy dragging or Smooth Dragging mode ?

If Snappy mode is activated, give a shot with the Smooth mode.

Rodolfo Santos

The Gumball is set to Smooth

I should probably have said ‘Are you gumballing smoothly?’ In any case, if set to smooth and you grab the origin, then 0 should send that to the C plane origin, if you grab on an arrow, then no, the grab point goes to zero.

Then Set it to Snappy ( I wrote the wrong way sorry ).

That’s the way I’m trying to do it

Correct, all my apologies.

It works!!! Problem solved by switching to Snappy. Thank you guys!

Sorry for the confusion.

Happy to help you.
