O-snap on front of mesh instead of rear Rhino 7

I use O-snap with ‘vertex’ checked, to draw polylines on meshes. This is a frustrating process where it keeps picking the wrong side of the mesh. In both Ghosted mode and Shaded mode, I only have a 20% chance of getting the vertex I want at the front of the mesh. In most cases, the O-snap picks the vertex furthest away from the camera, on the back side of the mesh. I do remember there was a Rhino command that was able to prevent it, where it would pick vertices occluded by the mesh itself, but I forgot the exact command.

Does anybody have the same issue with o-snap, and how do you solve it?

That would be expected in Ghosted, but shouldn’t be happening in Shaded mode.

The only setting i can think of is in Modeling Aids
