Notes Panel

I have a few mechanical project modelled in Rhino that have installation manuals, currently these manuals are produced in word and compiled into a pdf.
I was just wondering if Notes Panel could be utilised so that the manual is part of the rhino file.
Text is ok to bring across but was wondering:

  • is adding images something that could be included in the Notes Panel?
  • could there be a link (like a hyperlink) between the text in the Notes Panel and say Object Name. So if you clicked on the linked text the corresponding object is highlighted?

The Notes panel is currently just text.

Having it as RTF is a good idea!
This would allow some formatting and structure, and perhaps it could hold even images.
I don’t know if Windows Explorer could show such notes.

A linked connection to the model?
What if the linked object is deleted?
Then the link in the Notes is invalid.

Perhaps you could use Named Selections instead.
