No selection indication on extruded surfaces in shaded mode

Hi,

Shaded view.
I draw a line, go Surface extrude curve > straight

pick the resulting surface, no indication at all that it is selected.

Cant see an option to turn on in options.

If I am in Xray view or ghosted view the edge goes yellow, its only in shaded view I cant see that its selected at all.

What do I need so as to have it show a yellow edge or cross lines or something in shaded view ?

Do you have your shaded view set up to not show edges?

ah…surface edge setting thickness 0

also had mesh off isocurves off

by altering just the 0 to 1 now shows yellow !

I didnt realise edge line 0 applied to selections as well as appearance when unselected.
