we always had this issue that a layer colour set to black made the shading white till you pull your slider ever so slightly away from black which was weird and unnecessary? but at least the curves were black, now in v9 not even the curves are black but the bold opposite white. i did not mind having the surfaces stay brighter in v8 and before, now i have to do this extra step for the curves either to get black curves when i have a black layer?
can we please have black geometry/curves when we set the layer to black? ideally dark grey with a little shading for surfaces similar to v8, i dont mind having a little darker but right now its just a confusing mess.
i just found out that this indeed fixed the issue, my background is a bit darker, i would not say black but it seems enough to switch the curve color. thank you!
i say we because the first part of my description regarding surfaces still happens in Rhino across all versions and platforms on a fresh install since as long as i know Rhino (15 years) meaning everyone using Rhino is affected by that. this issue is still not solved, one has to slightly go aside from pure RGB 000 something like 111 for the surfaces to become black. Discours is pretty full with posts about this issue.
ok, thanks for the clarification. I wanted to make sure you were not part of a design group where everyone saw this issue on multiple machines as that is a different diagnostic path than troubleshooting one specific problem on one specific machine.
