Ive started modelling up a smokers pipe.
If i was to trace the image with polyline, can this unusual shape then be turned cylindrical?

See what sweep2 or sweep1 can do for you.

also look at the command _Revolve.

this will allow you to draw a profile curve then extrude it in a cylindrical fashion.
