Osnap and Filter now have icons.
They are confusing.
In this small size, they don’t look good.
The quad points are barely visible:
When the toolbar icons are enlarged, i.e. 32, the Osnap icons stay tiny.
Too small on a high res screen.
When the left sidebar is resized to 2 columns, the text vanishes, then there are only icons.
Not a bad idea.
But then they are no longer organized in lines.
Which leads to searching for the icon I want to click:
When the general toolbar icon size is 32, then it’s cumbersome to switch between Osnap and Filter.
1st click the chevron, then the menu.
Or mousewheel, but only on the container tab.
The “secret” Ctrl/Shift modificator shows different button layouts.
Shift:
When you really want to do something good for the Osnaps, I suggest making the Ctrl/Shift mechanism more accessible first.
As it is now, it’s a kind of secret.
And if there is time left, I’d write Center not Cen (Zentrum/Zen).
The wording is already known:
Options for these settings will be in the Options panel when 9 ships. For the moment you can play with the TestOSnapToggles command and fiddle with the look and behavior you want. There are several.

There are a new set of selection filter icons as of this morning that didnt make it into the WIP, expect to see those change over the next few builds. Some icons might not be right as we probably didnt have them. This is changing.
As for the shift + ctrl finger twister.. That ones complicated and I dont think we’re going to try to make folks unlearn it in v9 as much as I dislike it myself.
It’s docked… I want away for awhile, computer went to sleep, came back, and now it reads only text as it should… Go figure. Closing and restarting also works. In any case it’s still somewhat glitchy, but the text-only is fine for me.
Yeah the test command only sets the values. The panels will refresh with layout changes once you nudge them or resize. I improved this last friday so that the test command sends a nudge for them to update after a settings change. That should show up with tomorrows update. If you dont see the panels change immediately, just tickle them. They’ll update.
The default has no Filters docked. If you first restore the Default Window Layout, then go to full screen and back, does the Osnap toolbar still disappear?
@Charles I see that in Rhino 8 it was possible to do this for toolbars, but not for panels. I don’t see how this could work for panels, since panels often have scrollable content.
