New material goes to bottom of list

Hi there,

I’m wondering if it’s possible for Rhino to create new or duplicate materials directly under the currently selected material?

Current behaviour shown in video

I couldn’t reproduce your issue. please share your system info, also does this behaviour applies to this file only? or is it happening universally?

Hi Tay,

I just replicated the issue using a blank template in feet; a template I never use (metric).

You are 2 updates behind. Can you update your rhino and let me know?

actually, I was able to get the same behavior when in List View mode. I think it should be sorted automatically, otherwise use the “Sort Alphabetically” toggle below:

Updated, and the behaviour still persists no matter which view mode is used. Duplicates are always sent to the bottom. Also, the sort alphabetically button is not a persistent one… you need to keep pressing it after you make a new material

Cheers,
Jeremy

Can you look into this issue? I don’t think it works as intended, also I don’t see this issue in Rhino 8 but it seems that there is a bug in rhino 7.

Hi @tay.othman and @jdelavaulx Apologies for the delay in looking into this issue. I located the fix that prevents this issue from occurring in the Rhino 8 WIP (RH-71587). I’ve asked the developers if it is possible to push this fix to the next service release of Rhino 7 as well.
