@sam what about the “new” tag icon, that has been introduced instead of “*”.
You said@kris is working on scaling this “new” tag a bit, but there were no changes on this, up until now. Any comments on this?

Well I preferred the good old “*” instead of “new”. But as you said, some people got confused with it (although there’s not much to be confused with).
If so, just a bit smaller “new” icon, may be look more appealing:
