New HumanUI for Rhino 8/WIP for testing

Hi all!

I bumped into Andrew Heumann @andheum at NXTBLD a couple of weeks ago in London and we discussed updating the HumanUI build that a few years old at Andrew’s Github.

I’ve worked on a couple of new versions. The first is basically just a modernised version which is built for .net Core and Rhino 8.0 onwards. This fully supports Rhino WIP and should work going forward. I currently have this version waiting for Andrew to accept the pull request and distribute.

You can download the yak and drop it onto Rhino from here. I’m not putting it in the package manger or F4R yet because Andrew and I haven’t decided who’s going to do that (it will depend on his capacity)

There is a second one…and this one is quite a bit more ambitious. If you’re either using Mac, or just want to play around with a more “alpha” bleeding edge version, you can also try this one:

This one works on Mac. The entire backend has been moved from WPF to our cross platform UI toolkit Eto.Forms.

Please try one of them (or both!) and let me know if it works for you. It would be great if as many people as possible could try these versions with existing GH documents. They should work without any changes.

Cool! How do you test? Not super familiar with GH

If you’re not familiar with GH, there’s probably nothing to see here. But feel free to visit Andrew’s original Github for instructions.

Published to yak w/ version 0.8.10, for windows only. I have not tested since I do not have a windows-capable machine!
