I suggest to increase the effective area (invisible radius in pixels) of the Extrude ball handle while keeping its size unchanged. The reason for that is the risk of accidental use of the Move handle when the mouse pointer is just a tiny bit outside the Extrude ball handle. I’m aware that I can increase the size of the Extrude ball handle, but that also makes its appearance uglier and “visually heavy” compared to the Move handles.
With other words, I would like to keep my Extrude ball handle’s size of 10 pixels while it behaves as if it was 12-13 pixels big.
There is no reason why the vector of the arrow will act as “Move” when I click it behind the Extrude ball handle…
The connection line shouldn’t work at all !
I’ve plenty of beginners get lost for this misinteraction.
Half of the vector behind the Arrow handle should work, but the other half towards the origin must be inactive to prevent unwanted movement, especially when the Extrude ball handle is visible and the goal is to extrude the selected line or edge.
this already works this way in Rhino 8, each having its own area, or am I missing something?
Yes, I just tried Rhino 8 evaluation and the Gumball is fixed there. ![]()
