Hi @AndyPayne will the new firefly Grasshopper plugin have any features to connect to an Intel realsense D455?
I’ve used a kinect long time ago, I believe with firefly. Kinect is not really available anymore and the D455 could be a replacement.
It certainly could. It looks like there’s an SDK that could be used. The main issue is the cost. It looks like it’s about $550 and if I don’t have a primary use case for it, then it’s a little harder to justify. It also seems like it’s a bit more niche as a use case. Firefly already has a pretty small user base because you have to be interested in Grasshopper and microcontrollers. I’m not sure how many people have these devices or want access to them within GH, but I’m open to the idea. The first release will focus mostly on microcontrollers and there are some pretty cool new things that have been added but I haven’t really started on any of the computer vision stuff

I have a D415 - A good budget alternative to the D455, and an L515. These cameras are popping up for sale all over Ebay and are easy to get. The D455 seems to be increasing in price if anything but the others look like they’re getting cheaper.
