Hello,
since 4 weeks we have a Problem with our Network render systems.
We have a main System a 24core Workstation. Since 1 year we take advantage of 3 nodes with dual Xeon´s. Its amazing fast. (Network render)
But this stopped 3-4 weeks before. If the main Machine starts a Job the Xeon Nodes join to render and after 1-5 minutes the job freezes (rhino) … and we have to start it over and over again.
It does not depend on the Job. It seems general.
Facts:
- The nodes don’t get updates from windows or other. So it can’t be that.
- the main Workstation get Windows updates. So, somebody of you have the same problem ?
- Maybe we should try Win 8.1 (now we have Win 7)
- we use Vray Plugin, but don’t had updates here.
- Maybe a Rhino Update bring us the problem?
thanks
@renderman
Is it a certain file that causes issue? or does this happen even when you render a box with default material?
its all kind of projects … as said this started 3-4 weeks ago. Before I used the nodes for month
A couple of requirements I look for in my render network
- No Wi-fi connections. All computers must be wired to maintain a
consistent connection (Wi-fi has drops and interference.)
- All DR Spawners AND parent should be on the exact same version of V-Ray.
(Recent 64-bit Windows versions do not seem to matter.)
- If crashes occur, then I close the Spawner app on the computer in
question. Then, on the ‘parent’ computer, refresh the nodes via the
System → Hosts → Resolve Servers.
- As a last resort, I might re-boot the parent computer and repeat the
Resolve step.
