Hi everyone, I need to create a façade in Grasshopper like in the photo, but after generating the panels I can’t manage to move them to rotate from horizontal to vertical as shown in the reference image. Does anyone know how to help me?
The panels should rotate and go from functioning as a façade to covering the bridge on the left side of the image.
I’m also attaching the GH and Rhino files in case they might help.
I think we’re missing some ‘building/model’ information/data—your script has the curves you’re dividing to generate the panels, but it probably pays to rely on the surface geometry to make panels follow it. Alternatively, maybe show us a more effective screenshot of where exactly you wish to make this transition from horizontal to vertical using your model as the example image shows a different building—needless to say simply note how the panels follow a clearly defined surface.
Rene is right, you should model a surface by hand, then make panels follow it. Prepare rhino model with the surface you want to cover with panels, and i can assist you
It is very good that you both attempted and achieved a result with your model geometry and Grasshopper, but the easier way to do this is with the Sporph tool, and for that, as others have mentioned, you need a reference surface to which you want to apply the panels.
