"Name of the file to open" - bug?

I saw this in VisualArq, but I don’t have that.

When I open Rhino, it gives me some thumbnails of my current projects. Just in the last day or two, rather than opening the file I click on, I get this:

I cannot esc out of it, and pasting the path doesn’t work either. If I paste something that isn’t a file name, it jumps back to Command: , but nothing works (e.g. New File.)

Also, quitting doesn’t work, either via drop-down or clicking the X.

However, with Rhino closed, if I double-click on the file I’m trying to open, it seems to open and operate normally,

I’m also noticing that my recent files aren’t showing up in the drop-down menu.

Any thoughts?
