Multiple monitor issue new to Rhino 8 - moving panels

Hi Heath -

I’ll send you a few previous versions.

For that issue, please see the following post and provide feedback in that thread:

Note the AuditUndo and TestCurrentUndo commands.
-wim

Thanks! Got the links. If I uninstall V8, will I lose my settings, or will everything come back just the way I had it? I’m super busy right now and saving settings and setting up Rhino all over again is outside my time limits at the moment. thanks

Hi Heath -

Uninstalling doesn’t mess with the settings.

As always, though, you should have a backup of important files. In this case, that would a copy of the following folder:

%appdata%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0

Mitch created a script for a one-click backup:

-wim

Has anyone had a chance to looked at the [related] issue of the floating tools/panels not keeping their position on Mac with SideCar [iPad]?

Since it’s [i’d imagine] uses different connection tech then a regular monitor… it might not be the same fix as with the OP ?

thanks a lot

Ah, my third monitor is also using a different connection than the other two (and is a different resolution)

And the same issue is in the last V9 WIP I installed (9.0.24352.12305, 2024-12-17). Not sure if it was there before, didn’t try floating a toolbar on another window in V9 before.

My installation updated to Version 8 SR18 this morning and the multi monitor floating panel issue appears to have been fixed. Thank you!!!
