Multiple files executed at once

Hi David,

Do you have any thoughts on running multiple GH files at once in Grasshopper 2?
One thing I didn’t like in GH 1 was that I could run (or at least preview) only one file at once. In order to have a preview I had to have sometimes several completely unrelated pieces of definitions scattered on one canvas.

Example:

  1. Display conduit definition
  2. Some conceptual geometry tool
  3. Rhino viewport screenshot definition
  4. Ladybug definition

That makes 4 different definitions that need to share one canvas in order to preview & run all of them at once.

I would rather keep definitions tidy in separate files (but preview all of them at once). It’s especially uncomfortable when one piece of definition is being actively developed and I would like to keep it and reuse it in other projects. In order to do that, I need to develop it inside a “shared” canvas and later on copy and paste it to another file. At this point, things can get messy, because I have two copies of the definition and I need to update my second “backup” copy after I finish.
