Randomly selected material seems to apply to my whole model. Most the faces shown should appear white. It’s bizarre to me that it randomly grabs one material and plasters it around everywhere.
Are there steps to repeat?
Sadly no. But it’s so buggered that if it’s not just my system you guys will see it right away. It also feels “new”, like that it came in with the update.
Is there any way you can share a file that exhibits this behavior?
Maybe later I can break a file down. It’s not a heavy file but is starting to cover a large area. The objects are close to the origin however.
Zoom Selected actually makes it disappear until I pan again. If it doesn’t print this would be something I can work around.
To be honest the issues with the lineweights, sections and printing are what’s killing me. This graphical stuff was more the straw that broke the camel’s back and whatever part of my soul which has desire to continue in Rhino happened to vacate my body when this appeared. Or rather I think it was right after - another minor bug (but one that’s also hard on the eyes). I just decided to take an indefinite break and just use Rhino for more simple things… problem solved.
I’ve been going through your posts and trying to find specific actionable issues to fix. I’m still looking, but any help you could give to something specific to work on would be greatly appreciated.
I post way too much at times. But some of the more concise posts, like when I did real deep dives and spent literal hours on, seemed to get ignored. Even an answer such as “we know about the issue but it’s going to be hard to solve, so don’t hold your breath” would be appreciated. Then at least I know right?
For this one I think it’s a bit lost or convoluted in the YouTrack. Or someone doesn’t understand line scaling. Curves current work as intended. But most other objects don’t:
The line printing priority, this one I can navigate around via stacking detail views with different display modes. But one display mode can’t use linetypes for thickness so you lose some control. If this got solved then the printing output would be next level (without even stacking detail views):
This is a potpourri of issues. Some of these make it impossible to see what the print looks like. So although not severe on their own, when you consider the other issues, like the printing priority, all these things gang up together:
Now, a few of these things are me asking a lot out of Rhino, but they’re still bugs… nonetheless, I understand why they’re not priority. Lots of the other stuff universally affects users (basically any user using layouts/printing). The linetypes for example: They’re very ambitious and would be awesome if they worked, but they don’t work. I’d rather have R7’s system. Same goes for Section Styles.
