Modeling an elastic net

Hello to everybody!

Sorry to bother, I really don’t know how to do this.
I need to model an elastic net around an object and I have no clue of what’s the best way to do it.

something like this:

i’d like to make it with and without the object (in this case the helmet). what do you think it’s the best way to approach this problem? I’m always stuck when I need to do this kind objects/more organic shapes :frowning:

I would build a curve network and apply curve piping. The knots could be separate objects added later. Curve piping helps to keep the net editable.

And you could get half-way usable curves by draping a surface over the helmet and seat first and then extracting curves from that.
