Model not displayed correctly in layout detail (perspective view)

Hello, I have a perspective view detail in my layout to show how two pieces fit together, but when i tab out of the detail it starts to look like they overlap, which they shouldn’t. I’ve checked several times that they do not actually overlap in the model.

Here is a screenshot of me positioning the camera with the model looking like it should:

After tabbing out of the detail the model becomes inaccurate:

When I export the pdf and the image is finalised it actually gets worse:

It’s supposed to clarify how they fit and instead it looks extremely misleading. Is there a setting somewhere to render this with higher accuracy?

Thanks!

Hi Isi -

Please post the .3dm file. Images are very hard to troubleshoot.

I can’t unfortunately, it’s NDA work.

Usually in a case like this the user will take a few minutes to create a new file with just enough objects to show the problem area without revealing enough to disclose confidential concepts.

Or else create a file from scratch that shows the problem.

Hi Isi -

I’m not seeing that here:

Edges.pdf (516.6 KB)

Getting edges to print at a certain width typically causes problems. You could try to either increase their weight in the viewport or to print to a lower dpi. Or a combination.
