Why not Die Richtung eines Objekts wurde umgekehrt. ?

(I’m not a native speaker here, but why first “Umkeheren” as the command verb and then “Umgedreht” as the command result ?

Changed umgedreht to umgekehrt for RH 8.6. Apparently, this has been there forever.
