Mesh Division

Hello everyone,

This is more of a general technical question.
I would like to ask if there is a way to equally divide a mesh with one or more holes as the rest of the mesh without that busy subdivisions around the holes.

Thanks,
Alexandros

for this you are better off starting with an evenly divided mesh and then splitting or cutting the mesh holes – this way you will only be cutting away at the affected area and only ‘busying’ the affected faces…

otherwise if you have rhino5 you could try to do something with mesh relax by daniel piker

If you build the mesh topology around the hole manually, then subdivide in Weaverbird you can get something more even. The boundary of the hole will not be exactly circular like this, but if you need it to be you can reposition those vertices

Hello,

Thank you both. I did as you suggested.
I removed a face from the initial mesh before using the Weaverbird triangulation.
I got a perfectly evenly spaced grid but I did not manage to make the face missing turn into a circular shape.
