Mesh bounding

I’m trying to find a way to CNC mill a simplified form of a sculpture that a sculptor than then go in to refine.

So if I start off with a digitally sculpted mesh, I want to expand that mesh and simplify it so that the new mesh completely envelopes the original mesh. Sort of like a 3D drape.

Does anything like this exist in Rhino, or even in other programs?

Hi Andrew - there is OffsetMesh and ReduceMesh - between the two you might get something useful.
