Menu configuring

I’d like to make a modification to my commands menu yet when I do a search items like the example below don’t show up. The item that’s found through the menus does not allow me to select it, so it leaves me wondering how I’m supposed to use this interface.

Sorry for the delayed reply. This one slipped by me.

I suspect I’m not certain what you want to do…I’m probably misunderstanding the problem. But I did notice one thing: the search bar in the lower left-hand corner only searches/filters the available buttons in the tool palette, not the contents of a selected button. Said differently: that search box only searches/filters the stuff immediately above it in the interface.

Thanks for the reply. I’m under the impression that if no particualar menu is chosen the search function will cover all available command buttons. Is that not so?

If I am understanding you properly, then the answer is: “No, that is not so.”

The search field pointed to by the arrow below applies only to the area above it…

Does that help?

Okay, but there’s no particualar menu selected.

Do you mean a palette? I not sure what you mean. There doesn’t have to be anything selected to search.

That search box at the bottom left only search for commands in the area above it.

If you want to make a custom palette, Like I have for my middle mouse button.

here I added Flow Along Curve.

What I’m having a problem with is actually finding a command using the search function in the lower left as shown. Even scrolling through the commands without any search words I cannot find the perspective view command

.

I can find other view commands in the window located alphabetically like this:

“Perspective” cannot be found.

@JKayten it is here, if this is what you are looking for.

Is that what you are looking for?

Yes, but for some strange reason it doesn’t show up in my preference/commmands window. Could this have been inadvertently deleted?

Check your setView palettes …

Yep, there it is. That’s nice. What am I doing wrong in the other instance?
