Measurement commands not returning results on Rhino 8 Mac

Hi,

I’m experiencing an issue in Rhino 8 for Mac where measurement commands are not working correctly, and I’m hoping someone can help.

  1. ‘Distance’ command only shows the dx / dy / dz differences, but does not return the total distance value.
  2. ‘Length’ and ‘Area’ commands do not return any result at all. Scrolling through the command history / command window does not show the measurement results either.

After reinstalling Rhino, the measurement commands work correctly at first, but after some time the issue returns. Based on my recollection, the problem seemed to reappear after importing a SketchUp (.skp) model, although I’m not completely certain that this is the direct cause. Once the issue starts, it affects multiple files, not just a single document, and restarting Rhino does not resolve the problem.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or is there a known setting, preference, or bug that could cause measurement results to stop displaying like this? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Woo

Hi Woo,

Does running the Reset command and choosing the ‘Restore Default Rhino Application Settings’ resolve it? Please also use the ‘Save the Settings for Support’ option if it does and we can see what changed. Thanks

Hi Japhy,

Thank you for the suggestion. Running the Reset command and choosing ‘Restore Default Rhino Application Settings’ resolved the issue. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to save the ‘Save the Settings for Support’ file this time. If the same issue occurs again, I’ll make sure to save the settings and follow up here with the file.

Thanks again for your help!

It happened again..
Here’s the file for support before I reset the program.
