I just downloaded the demoversion of Maxwell
It can’t find mxcommon-x64-v140.dll
Can anyone send it to me or other advice?
Your best bet is to email the makers of Maxwell. They also have some functional forum there still of you Google it.
Alternatively, put Maxwell in the bin for now and give Bella Render a try instead.
I don’t think they offer tech support for the demo version (maybe just for installation problems).
BTW - I tried Bella - good but very slow.

Update - I found out on a forum that you have to install the entire package including all of the outdated Rhino versions in order for the first installation to work - I tried this and the installer worked - but now I’ve got a demo licensing issue. H’mmm - will update as long as people here are interested
Not to bore people - but it’s working now!
I’m under the impression the learning curve is short but quite steep - first render is running now - not expecting it to look so good.
