Material | Combine base color maps

Hi there,

Simple question but not getting the desired result : how could I make a material that combien these 2 textures ?

this png.

+ a default base color (lets say green)

I have no succes

I got something, but still the screenshot of the material is black… undesirable if all my material preview become black… there most be other way around?

Answered myself.. a simple twist. if some still searching :

1- create BPR texture

2- set base color (not sure if needed…)

3- enable basecolor/metalic/roughness detail

4- checker icon to basecolor : set blend texture

5- set second color to desir color (green e.g.)

6- swap color if necessary

7- blend texture setting set your png

8- in my case, I don’t need to use Alpha channel because the white part of the img/png will like if no blend would be applyed. In other words, I could simple have a had a black and white image instead of a png with only black numbers.

You also can give it a try with Decals, and fyi.

@jessesn , thanks, I noted this exist too. As I wanted to create a library, the decal option didn’t see to be a time saving option, but it could definitly be helpfull in some cases.

You can also do this without a Blend texture with…
drag your png with an alpha into an open viewport > choose to make a material > toggle off the Alpha setting > change the base color.
