The Material column in the Layers panel is missing. If I check or uncheck “Material” under Show Columns, nothing changes. So I can not assign a color to a layer. Therefore with Render display, all objects appear as gray. I’m used to being able to assign a layer color in the Windows version.
as of now, you can’t assign a material to a layer… you have to do it per object.
select your object(s)
run _Properties (or use the Objects inspector in the right side bar)
click the material tab
you can edit the material there. (click the color box and a color picker will pop up)
Yes, the column is there, but you are correct, it doesn’t appear to be hooked up to anything yet… Perhaps this is a result of the two “native” renderers available in MacRhino, and/or the problem of the RDK not being ported to Mac (yet). --Mitch
