Matching camera view in other tools


I am a Visual Effects Professor doing a collaboration with our Interior design department. I am trying to match rendered views in Rhino3d in Maya or Nuke.

Rhino is z world up and Maya is Y world up I get that. I have done the space conversions and things almost line up.

The problem is the focal length. If I set both to the same number (50 in my case) there is a miss-match, If I eyeball it and bring the focal length in Maya down to around 41-42 things seem to line up.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be very appreciated. Oh, and we are using v-ray as our renderer.
