Massive respect to the creators this software is a game changer

Hello everyone,

After 20 years, I’ve finally returned to Rhino—my first encounter was back in 2002. Since then, I’ve spent years working with SolidWorks and other CAD systems, but I recently hit a wall when it came to freeform modeling. So I decided to give Rhino another try.

At first, it was a complete shift in mindset, but I have to give massive credit to the developers at McNeel and the creators of Grasshopper. Your software is absolutely brilliant. In my opinion, Rhino has become the best CAD system on the market—and I’ve worked with the biggest names out there!

I love the freedom it offers and the incredibly intuitive workflow once you get into it. After just two months of testing the trial version, I went ahead and bought a license :hugs:.

Right now, I’m working on a major software project where I’ve built what I call a “sweep generator” using Grasshopper. It generates sweeps based on my patented algorithm that designs a completely new type of curve. This curve is read into my Grasshopper sweep generator, and soon it will be able to produce absolutely perfect sweeps—all thanks to your world-class software.

I just wanted to say thank you. I’m close to releasing the tool, and the Grasshopper sweep generator will be available for free. Only my proprietary custom-built “pframe” system will remain closed for now. Once it’s out, I’d be thrilled to receive any feedback from the community.

One request I’d love to make: would it be possible to include the Clipping Plane component in future versions of Grasshopper? Ideally, it could be attached to a curve and moved along it. Since I work a lot with animation, I’ve built a Boolean Difference system that slices my sweeps along a curve for animation and geometry control. Because my sweeps are highly complex biomorphic forms, Boolean operations are very computationally intensive. A native Clipping Plane feature would be a phenomenal upgrade.

Once again, huge thanks to the brilliant developers behind this software. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to build such an amazing tool.

Best regards to everyone in the forum!
