Mapp graphics on packaging

Hi!

I have a problem that I would think I would find an earlier thread about but no so I’ll ask it here.
I’m trying to apply graphics I make in illustrator to a packaging I’m building in Rhino 7 (Mac). The packaging is more or less a square pipe or sleeve with a hole on one side. I’ve flatten the sleeve to get the surface area and size and use that as a template in illustrator (a square with a hole). I then export it as a jpeg and would like it to wrap around my model placing one corner of the jpeg on the corresponding corner of my sleeve. But no matter what mapping option I use I can’t seem to get it to work. Here’s my 3d modell and the flatten version:

Big thanks to anyone who can help out and let me know if there’s anything more I can supply you with to help me out!

Jacob

Hi Jacob - please post a file with the box and the image you’d like to use, here, or to tech@mcneel.com with a link back to this topic in your comments.

Your idea to combine Illustrator for graphic design and Rhino 7 for packaging seems like a good plan. When you export from Illustrator, make sure to save your artwork in a format that keeps the transparent parts, such as PNG. This will help ensure that your designs fit well onto your packaging model. Also, try out different mapping methods like cylindrical or spherical to see which one works best. Keep going with your great work!
