I have really basic knowledge of rhino and grasshopper. I am trying to place Mangalore tiles on a warp surface while keeping the tile shape. I tried using the paneling tools from this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeAMOYfp9tY). The tiles came out deformed
My coworker said to use perp-frames, but I am unsure how to do that on Grasshopper. I started a file where I selected the ridge and base of the roof. perp frames.gh (4.8 KB)
I would appreciate a detailed explanation since I am still learning a lot of things from both of these programs. Thank you in advance!
Please find base rhino 8 model here: ROOF.3dm (1.2 MB)
Your grasshopper file didn’t have anything internalized, so when I opened it nothing happened.
That’s all they said?!
Same thing can be said to just about any problem in this world.
LoL
They sent you to war without ammo!
I will fail you here, because, well, I’m not 100% proud of the result.
BUT, I gave it a try because it’s been a day and you have no replies (makes sense, this takes work…and probably more brains/caffeine than what I got).
My apologies for the corrupted Grasshopper file. I might not have saved it correctly. This program is a little overwhelming since I am still learning it.
Thank you very much for the detailed grasshopper file! I took a brief look, and it looks very complex. I am reading this book to help me comprehend some of the components you have used: Grasshopper book.
Thank you for this other tutorial! I was reading it, and it will be helpful for a project I am currently working on. It also reminded me of this tutorial I watched a while back when learning Grasshopper: InstaArch.
I don’t know much about Grasshopper, but this already helped me visualize the placement of the tiles. Thank you again!
