Making viewport active during Smooth command?

Just wanted to hear if it would be possible to make the viewports active during the Smooth command? We get a nice preview of what the smoothed object will look like, but can’t really assess it in detail, as the viewport is “locked” in the position from when the command is run. It makes the preview almost redundant; at least if you have more than one area you need to check. Only solution is to click OK and undo if the result is not yet optimal. Also an option to hide the source geometry (similar to ShrinkWrap) would be nice, as the smoothed version always shrinks a little.
