Making two sets of subd faces parallel?

A bit stuck. How do I get faces A to be parallel to faces B? B must stay the same, A must move to match.

subd.3dm (118.2 KB)

AutoCPlane on, select the B faces.

Select the A faces and toggle the gumball so it is aligned to CPlane.

Then scale the Z axis with factor 0

Do you have both A + B selected when you do this? Because I can’t deselect B to only scale A - as soon as I do that the CPlane reference to B disappears.

No, just the A faces selected for scaling.

I’m not sure how you’re doing that. If I only have A selected then A becomes the new CPLANE reference.

You wrote you want to move the A faces, correct?

In that case, you must select just the B faces for the AutoCPlane. Once the AutoCPlane is at the correct place, _SelNone.

Thanks. Once I locked the cplane it worked.

In such an operation I like to see the CPlane so I know it is where I want it.
