Making a facade but not all the bricks

Is there a way of modeling this facade without doing all the bricks? Maybe just some kind of texture or something else abstract?

What I am doing right now is the whole facade in one piece and the surfaces are just “smooth”.

I am looking for the easiest solution right now, it doesnt have to be perfect.

I often use a hatch pattern as a quick and lightweight way to draw brick joints.

you had more effort writing that post and adding a picture than simply making one brick and arraying a few in all directions. but since you did not tell us what you need it for the suggestion might be a step into utter darkness.

alternatively take the image you have correct for perspective and bang it up the walls.

Hi @Hobnob

There are many ways to do this.
Once you create a cube/wall shape or a subD object, go to the libraries tab and select a masonry block texture from the architectural materials (there are also bricks and other stone/types) then map it to your cube or wall structure. Use decals to do the lettering parts.

I attached a file containing a simple subd object with a texture mapped to it and a decal applied to demonstrate. I left the mapping widgets visible to aid in how you can adjust the texture mapping.

Thank you for your help. I think this could be the solution, but I have not yet been able to make it work. I can not find the bitmap structure as you have shown in your file.

Would you be able to specify more exactly where you find your bitmap texture?

sorry for the late reply, I´ve been on holiday.

Hi @Hobnob

Open your library tab and navigate to

  1. architectural folder
  2. then to “Cmu folder”
  3. Then to “wall folder”.
See attached images shows primary folder and then the wall folder.
