Make2D Loads Forever Taking 100% of i9-24 Core CPU

Hi,

I’m a junior architect working on this scene my senior colleague has given me. Neither of us can get Make2D to work with the front view in this model.

My machine is a 24-core i9, 32GB RAM with an RTX 4090. When running Make2D the application uses 0% GPU and spends about 39 minutes running at 100% CPU usage, so something is seriously wrong. systeminfo.txt (2.4 KB)

We have reduced the tolerance considerably, tried hiding objects etc. Rhino7 seems to hang and the cursor spins nonstop and there is no output or it seems anything for us to check what the issue is. In fact, a LOT of our Make2D models have the same issue. So I now need to reach out to try to understand what we are doing wrong.

It looks like the terrain surfaces wreak havoc. I’m looking if there is a workaround possible. It might be their due to their high density. If you _ExtractRenderMesh on those surfaces, then hide the surface, Make2D is quite fast.
