Make2d and Section tool still feel pretty unreliable

I’ve had this recurring issue where trying to make2d on a section model only draws a couple lines. I’ve tried a series of troubleshooting steps

  • Increasing tolerances produces worse results. Decreasing them does nothing
  • No bad objects
  • model Make2ds fine if there’s no section
  • The information is not hidden in “hidden lines”
  • It happens on models with a little bit of complexity but I’ve sometimes recreated it on very simple models.
  • If I arduously cut the model with a line I can make2d fine.

Any possible idea what causes this or is this just a quirk of pushing make2d to its limits.
