Make things visually more randomized

I was wondering if there is a way to make things more ‘pseudo-random’. As an example take this sound diffuser. Right now you can see that some of the blocks that are next to each other have the same orientation.
Since there are only 4 different orientations possible, chances are quite likely that this happens somewhere using the random component. Any ideas how to solve this fact?

this seems like a basic Four-Color-Theorem problem, except you just need to replace colors with rotation angles.
