MacOS Grasshopper Text Field Mouse Exit Bug

Using Grasshopper in Windows, when entering values into text fields, it is common (for me anyway…) to ‘swipe’ from right to left. This works well and even if the user’s mouse exists the bounds of the text field itself, the field maintains focus. This works great.

Windows Example:

However, on MacOS, the tet field losses focus when the mouse exists the bounds, and gets all tangled up when the mouse comes back in. This is super, super, duper obnoxious and frustrating.

MacOS Example:

Can the MacOS version please be updated to work like Windows and maintain focus even when the mouse exists?

thank you,

I’m not seeing this one either, i suspect you may have a plugin conflict.

Really? I don’t have any Plugins at all? (Other than the ones that ship with Rhino)

Think its a Sonoma version issue? Maybe I should update?

Grasshopper plugins perhaps? Trying to find out what would be different. We’ve tested on the same OS and version with no success.

please post your full systemInfo (via running in the Rhino command line)

What is your monitor setup? any other hardware is attached that we can remove for testing? Thanks

Ah, interesting. I’m on two external monitors. I can unplug and test on the native MacBook monitor to see if that helps.

Sys info attached:
SystemInfo.txt (3.5 KB)

For GH Plugins, I only have HumanUI and Ladybug:

FWIW, I unplugged all monitors, turned off all bluetooth mouse and keyboard and only use the onboard trackpad - same behavior as shown above.

Thanks. Is this without?

starting grasshopper via GrasshopperLoadOneByOne command will allow you to say no to 3rd party gh plugins.

That’s correct, Using GrasshopperLoadOneByOne and selecting ‘NO’ at each prompt.

Although, Ladybug Tools loads anyway and I am not prompted Yes/No for that one. But the rest do not load.

I still get that same behavior when I try and double-click to type in a value.

Thanks, trying to eliminate all possible variables. Have you done a reset? Reset>Factory settings. This will return any customizations to defaults. See this link for backup instructions…

Thanks @Japhy , I just did a full reset, removed all plugins, and loading one-by-one and said ‘NO’ each time, unplug the extra monitors, and disconnect bluetooth mouse and keyboard, but I still get the exact same behavior when I double-click:

super weird…

Thanks for the troubleshooting efforts. This appears to be related to some recent Apple changes and will be rectified soon. Here is a youtrack RH-81454 on the issue.
