[Mac]Command history panel jumps

,

I haven’t used rhino in a while and and I’ve noticed a little bug which used to be no problem on mac. I have two panels on my right sidebar, one is the command history and below that is the layer panel. Recently whenever I do something the command history jumps and doesn’t show the last command. I think it is not recognising the second panel and setting itself so the last command would show at the bottom of the sidebar. The order of the panels doesn’t matter if I switch them around, the problem persists.

I hope these screenshots explain the issue better:

I have also tested this in rhino 8 wip and have the same issue

I have the same problem since updating to Ventura. The “Panels: Command History” doesn’t show the latest command or action at the bottom line, but something in the center of the command history, so you have allways to scroll down to the latest information. I could not find any preference to fix this.

so far we haven’t managed to reproduce that here. Pls provide _Systeminfo

thanks for providing SystemInfo @rgkoehnsen and @thesimontrapp

I’ve added https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-73417/CommandHistory-doesnt-scroll-to-the-bottom

Can’t find the issue on youtrack. I’ve tried reinstalling but the issue persists. I’ve also tried resetting the theme and settings to no avail.

It’s there, but not fixed yet, you get nothing when you click the link? It is open to public view.

The link didn’t work for me yesterday but now it works.

Anyone managed to fix this? I’ve recently updated to Ventura too and I have this issue.

nope - i have that on two machines, V7 and WIP V8… we just have to wait till someone recognises this as a critical bug and something starts moving… Also having this as a V8 goal is somehow strange, as it severely affects the user experience in V7.

It applies to all scrollable windows with text - also the bottom left hidden command history panel

Ditto some of the comments above…just coming to the Mac version and the History Window not displaying the last command at the bottom like it does for me in R5 makes the window such a pain after even the shortest time modelling. Hope this gets fixed.

cheers,
Sochin

I am experiencing the same bug on rhino 7 and 8 for a while now. Please fix it.

Hi -

RH-73417 is currently on the 8.0 list, so this is expected to be fixed within the next few months.
-wim

I see that the Mac version is still not taken 100% seriously

RH-73417 is fixed in the latest BETA

sorry to pop this topic up again -

Version 8 (8.2.23346.13002, 2023-12-12)
Mac os x ventura 13.5.1 (22G90)
intel macbook pro

the commandline sometimes scrolls to nervous / to much or is grayed out.
tried to get a sequence that allows a reproduce-able workflow but I did not manage.
using line, rectangle boundingbox in front view
repeat the commands with space and combine everything in a random order…

this is what i get
( 2 fails, one as I expect)

Can you please subscribe to the 8.3 RC and see if it’s better? We’ve revamped the command history window in 8.3
