Lost work due to wip expiry strategy

who wants to guess how infuriating this can be to users…

hopefully I only lost a few min of work…

would be nice if there were a different strategy rather than lock me out.

I’d like to be encouraged to use the wip rather than not. jus sayin’ :coffee:

that stressed me out, but i’ll be ok, new wip here i come !

I presume you mean lock you out without a few minutes warning. Of course, Rhino probably just checks at the time of a saving attempt whether it is allowed or not. Nevertheless I agree completely that it should somehow be better.

Did you get any warnings that the WIP would expire - perhaps several days earlier?

Yes, it didn’t really warn me at the time – other than the silly message at the title bar upper left area

But I even changed my calendar back a day to try to get to save the file, but o’ course that didn’t work cause quantum encryption or somem’ :joy:

All I remember is the puny message at the upper left area, that was counting down the days till expiry, but I never expected to get locked out at the last second I mean come on :sob:

It’s all good though, I only lost a half hour of work no biggy, I was just upset at the time and felt like making an announcement :joy:

Maybe devs can let us still save our work with the old version even if we’re using it till the last second :smiling_face_with_tear:

Or just install each new wip when it is released and you’ll never get near the expiry date.

I wasn’t aware that I could of manually downloaded the new release.

The software didn’t automatically invoke download until after expiry.

If it was available sooner, it would be great if the software would’ve automatically invoked download sooner :slightly_smiling_face:
