Lost va objects and styles switching project between machines

I took a project to my home computer from the office over the weekend and worked a bit on it. I wasn’t editing the va objects in it so I didn’t notice if they were present or not on the home machine. On opening the edited-at-home project back at the office this morning, I see that the Va objects are no longer there, and when I copy them from a previous version of the project, they don’t appear when pasted. There’s nothing in Va Styles in the project anymore. I hadn’t used Rhino on the home machine for a while, so I updated it and Va before working on it.

Hi @djhg is it possible that you have different versions of VisualARQ on each machine? Take into account that files saved with VisualARQ 3 won’t open properly in VisualARQ 2.

Maybe I inadvertently up[dated the home machine to Va3. I suppose I did, as I am using 2 at the office and didn’t check the version number when updating the home computer. That explains why it reverted to a trial version. Luckily I’m only editing non-va objects which I can port into a previous version of the project without data loss. Is it even possible to update the version at home to the current version of 2.0?

I see that i did install Va3.0 on my home computer. Luckily I was able to merge recent work done on the home computer into an earlier Va2.0 project on the office.

I will be upgrading from Rhino 7 / Va2 to Rhino 8 and Va3 after a current big project concludes sometime this year. In the meantime I need the same and most current version of 2.0 on both my home and office machines. How do I accomplish that? Should running update from Va>help in Rhino offer a 2.13 option? I dont think I saw one.

Hi @djhg if you have VisualARQ 3 installed and want to revert to VisualARQ 2, you need to uninstall VisualARQ 3 before installing VisualARQ 2.
You can download the latest VisualARQ 2 version (2.13.2) here: Version 2 - VisualARQ
