Glosten is looking for a talented individual to join our Production Engineering team in Seattle, WA or Providence, RI, as a Marine Structure or Systems Designer.

Join our team and apply your aptitude and software skills in support of shipyards, owners, and operators. Glosten’s Production Engineering group provides marine construction information and design to support construction of a wide variety of marine projects. We use a number of 3D modeling tools to provide high value manufacturing and assembly information, and support projects from concept through construction and beyond. This is a technical modeling and design position that generates 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing purposes.

  • Create 3D models using Cadmatic, AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Rhino, and other CAD programs.
  • Annotate 2D production drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD.
  • Work with a team of designers and engineers, communicate with clients and shipyards, and create 3D models and 2D production drawings to support large, long-term projects.
  • Understand structural lofting and steel fabrication or piping design and manufacturing processes.


  • Experience modeling in 3D.
  • Drafting experience creating detail drawings for manufacturing and use in production settings.
  • Proficient in creative problem solving, interpretation of technical drawings or specifications, and practical decision-making.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, Glosten will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas.


  • Shipyard experience.
  • Experience using production software such as Cadmatic, ShipConstructor, or other marine design packages.
  • Ability to loft structural parts from 2D drawings or an understanding of vessel systems design and the ability to route pipe systems in a 3D model.

Some travel and fieldwork are required. Some project assignments will require a valid driver’s license, current passport, and/or TWIC card.
