Lock plane with arrows key (very useful in 3d modelling)

what i find great in sketch up is to simply lock plane with arrows keys, if is for drawing lines, planes etc, can it be done in rhino too?

Hi @johnny2 ,
There is no such option in Rhino. I think what comes closest is to work in one view mode and turn your camera to the right plane.

Do I understand correctly that you press one of the arrow keys after the first point of a line, circle, square to then constrain it to one of the world planes?

Hi @Gijs , yes I can specify the starting point and than change the planes with the arrow keys, but in case of rectangles you can press the comand, change planes with arrow keys and than insert starting point, it works both ways, very helpful

hi @johnny2

I logged your request here RH-84671 Set a plane during a GetPoint operation

pls check if that covers what you are asking for

many Thanks !

I REALLY want this feature added!

Does anyone know if a plugin exists that can add this feature - or if it’s possible to re-bind the arrow keys manually?

I’m aware that moving your mouse in the desired direction and pressing TAB does essentially this exact thing - but it’s much more cumbersome and makes an otherwise instant action take a second or two instead, which adds up in the long run.
