Hi, I am having trouble figuring out why this living hinge pattern did not extrude properly. I think part of it might have to do with the way it was joined, grouped, or mirrored, but I am not exactly sure. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this so that the entire pattern is extruded properly?

Here is the file. Sorry, I am just a beginner, so I just started getting used to Rhino.
Thanks in advance!
SelOpenCrv will show the problem, I think
Hi @Julia12
If you want closed objects when extruding, you need to have closed curves. In your file, the grouped curves consists of both open and closed curves. The perimeter and some of the internal “pockets” are closed (selected in yellow here), and are good to go:
Some of the open curves are, I reckon, supposed to be closed (again marked in yellow):
These curves need to their ends matched to create closed curves.
Others are probably supposed to part of the outside border (yes, you guessed it, marked in yellow):
These need to be trimmed with/to the outside border/perimeter to create a closed curve.
And then there’s these curves (yellow!), with no apparent width or thickness to them. I’m not quite sure if they are supposed to be offset for thickness or if they are just surplus curves?
In the attached, I’ve ignored the “no thickness” lines, but used Trim
, Match
and Split
(and Delete) to fix the rest of the curves - hopefully you can use that to move on

Thank you so much! This makes sense
