hey all,
i have been using rhino for some years now as a naval architecture student, but when using layouts in combination with linked blocks, i have noticed some odd behavior with detail view visibility. when closing a file and opening it back up, it seems to “forget” which layers are turned on and off in the detail views in layouts. this wouldn’t be noticed until you change the linked blocks visibility and/or updating linked blocks. every block will be visible again in every detail view, even when you turned them off earlier
The following steps can be taken to replicate this behavior:
insert a linked block as linked and referenced (see screenshot)
create a layout with one or more details
toggle per detail layer visibility on and off for linked blocks in multiple layouts
play with global layer visibility and notice that detail layer visibility will behave as expected. it will remember which blocks are turned on and of per detail
save and close the file
when opening the file again, the layout appears to be fine, but when you play with the settings (for example global layer visibility) you will notice the detail view visibility settings seem to be broken. the only way to fix this is to manually turn the detail layer visibility on and off per layer only for it to be broken again after restarting.
