Linetypes not updated for document templates in Rhino 8

I’m working on a “meters large” model, and just noticed that all linetypes are still in millimeters and this look rather strange:

This should have been set up with meters out of the box in the template, should it not?

Hi Robert -

Those values are used on layouts as well, and it’d be hard to fit a segment in meters on a piece of paper. Modify the “Model space scale” at the top right in that dialog as required.

And that setting is not saved with the document, so McNeel can’t add them to the document templates which come with Rhino (ie, “large models - meters” could have it at 100x, for example)?

It’s a document property, saved in the document.

I’d use 100x for “small models - meters” and 1000 or 10000 for “large models - meters”.
The point of that is that it’s very unlikely that we’d hit a number that works for all. You find combinations of document settings that work for you and your environment and save that as the custom start-up template.
