Hello, I am working on a house project and projected lines down from my floorplan to draw standard windows. However, when I copy the window to a different window opening with the same dimensions on my elevation the window frame does not overlap with the projection lines like it should. I checked the dimensions on my floorplan for the window and they are all 2’4". I have my tolerance set to the highest setting so I know this is a relatively accurate measurement. I also checked the dimensions of the copy pasted window and the width of the window is 2’4" as well but somehow it only aligns with one of the lines and not the other. I hope I’m explaining my issue correctly! I’m attaching some photos as well. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated, I’m very new to this and couldn’t find any info about how to solve my problem on YouTube.
@Jessica12 Having a .3dm file with examples of the geometry causing the problem makes it much more likely someone will be able to help you. You can upload a .3dm file by dragging it to where you type a post, or by clicking on the vertical arrow icon above where you type a post. For this question include the window in the original position and in the copied position with the projection lines.
In the meantime several questions:
What Osnaps are turned on when you copy the object?
Is Grid turned on so the cursor snaps to grid location?. That can cause problems unless the grid locations are exactly at the intended locations.
How big is the difference in position of the lines in your first image? You can check the difference using CrvDeviation on the two lines? Rhino lets you zoom in so that objects which are well within tolerance of each other appear to be a significant distance apart.
