Hi everyone,
I am having a persistent issue where my line thicknesses are not printing correctly from Rhino, despite having tried everything. I am trying to print to pdf to then import into illustrator for editing.
No matter what I do, the lines export to incorrect thickness. I want to export the line weights exactly as they are set up in my project, but the output does not reflect my settings.
My Setup:
ELEVATION FRONT 24-05-26.3dm (3.4 MB)
-
Rhino Version: 8
-
Operating System: Windows 11
-
Output Format: PDF (Vector Output)
-
Printing From: Layout Sheet Viewport
What I have already tried and ruled out:
-
Vector vs. Raster: Verified the Print/Export dialog is strictly set to Vector Output.
-
Printer Driver: Used the built-in Rhino PDF driver and Adobe PDF
-
Object Properties: Confirmed line properties are explicitly set to ByLayer
-
Global Scaling: Adjusted the Linetype and Line Width scale multiplier in the print menu, but it doesn’t solve the core issue.
-
PDF Viewer Settings: Disabled Enhance Thin Lines in Adobe Acrobat to ensure it isn’t an Adobe display glitch.
-
Detail Scaling: Checked the Layout Detail properties; layout line width scaling is enabled/set to 1.0.
-
Display Mode: Checked Options > Display Modes to ensure the active viewport mode isn’t forcing a fixed pixel width override on curves.
It seems like Rhino is completely ignoring my layer print widths upon vector export. Has anyone encountered this bug before or is there a hidden document scale override I am missing / not understanding?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
